It's like riding a Bicycle

Distressed soft jeans, my favorite tote and a comfy top would be fitting for a picturesque bicycle ride. This adorable vintage bike is not mine, however, I do have an old bike I took out for a ride a few days ago. "It's like riding a bicycle" they say. And after many years of not riding a bike, it was not a pretty sight.

Wearing my helmet and old gym clothes, I felt pretty confident on my bike.  I felt invincible, as if I were a kid again.  So, I decided to go a little faster, when suddenly my life flashed before my eyes as I took a tumble. I was fine, just a little bruised. But, you will not see me on my real bike any time soon. Possibly never.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Going back home to Florida for a few days was exhilarating! I never thought I would say that after living there most of my life, but after experiencing the cold weather in Atlanta this past year, I can appreciate the Florida scene so much more. What is there not to like?  Besides the brutal humidity, you are surrounded by water, sunshiny days and palm trees! I was almost giddy at the the sight of dolphins, as if it was my first time.

I enjoyed playing up the role of a tourist, snapping photos, watching the sunset with my toes in the sand at the beach and hanging out with my long time friends and family. It was a  sweet and warm welcome home, pun intended.  The best part of it all was that I learned I can make that 7 hour drive from Atlanta by myself and enjoy the best of both worlds.  I am truly a blessed girl.

Houndstooth and Lace

Happy 2014! Wishing you all a year full of beautiful memories, health, love and lots of laughter. My future daughter in-law, Rebecca,  has been my beautiful and gracious model this week, since I have been under the weather.  This is what she wore to a casual dinner and drinks on New Year's eve with the family. I thought it was such a pretty combination of two classic fabrics,  that I ran out the door after her with my camera to capture her look for my blog…ummm, welcome to the family Rebecca!  We are very happy to have you in our lives!

Thank you all for joining me on my blogging journey and for your lovely comments over these past few months! I'm looking forward to an amazing 2014 and all the possibilities it has to offer, as well as pushing myself out of my comfort zone this year.  What are you looking forward to changing or improving this year?

His and Hers Playful Plaids

Hello everyone! Hope you are enjoying your holidays as much as I am! My kids were here from Florida and New York to celebrate the last weekend in 2013.  We spent a lovely day exploring Stone Mountain where I captured these beautiful photos of my son, Chris and his gorgeous girlfriend, Rebecca. Mom was a little under the weather, so their alter ego's kicked in as models for my blog.  I am one happy and blessed mom to have such beautiful kids in my life.

The Locals: Weekends in Atlanta

There are so many fun things to do and see in Atlanta, from historic museums to shopping districts, parks, museums and antebellum homes. The city's rich history is at every corner.

This past weekend, my hubby and I spent a lovely afternoon people watching, antiquing and eating pizza in historic Marietta Square.

Vintage Boots and Ruby Woo Red Lips

Every girl must have at least one red lipstick.  I am really stepping out of my comfort zone here with red lips because I typically wear natural/coral shades. Mac's lipstick in Ruby Woo instantly perks me up on those days that I don't particularly feel like fussing with makeup. Red lips and large sunnies are perfect  for casual glam.  On another note, I found these rocking boots at a quaint vintage shop in Florida for only $50!!! I know, right? Vintage shopping or thrifting can be so rewarding when you score a great pair of shoes or boots or jewelry or heck, anything pretty that you just can't live without. Hope you are all having a great week!

What I am wearing:  Sweater jacket: Local boutique  // Jeans: Seven for  All Mankind // Boots: Vintage  //  Bag: Coach Classic Rambler // Necklace: Madewell, similar style here  // Sunglasses: Old Navy // Mac Lipstick in Ruby Woo

Leopard in a Secret Garden

I love coming to the Leita Thompson Memorial Garden, it is the perfect place to come and spend the afternoon reading or relaxing outdoors on a beautiful day. It is also gorgeous for taking photos for my blog, so you might see this park quite a bit! Is it me, or does it look like the fountain is pouring water into my bag? Maybe it's a sign of good fortune to come...fingers crossed.
