Going back home to Florida for a few days was exhilarating! I never thought I would say that after living there most of my life, but after experiencing the cold weather in Atlanta this past year, I can appreciate the Florida scene so much more. What is there not to like?  Besides the brutal humidity, you are surrounded by water, sunshiny days and palm trees! I was almost giddy at the the sight of dolphins, as if it was my first time.

 I enjoyed playing up the role of a tourist, snapping photos, watching the sunset with my toes in the sand at the beach and hanging out with my long time friends and family. It was a  sweet and warm welcome home, pun intended.  The best part of it all was that I learned I can make that 7 hour drive from Atlanta by myself and enjoy the best of both worlds.  I am truly a blessed girl.

Road Trip to Florida

I have been so inspired by my mom to conquer my fears and try something I never thought I could do on my own; a road trip to Florida. It may sound like a small thing, but it is a long 7 hour stretch from Roswell, Ga. to Florida which makes me a little nervous driving by myself. I missed my hubby's company, however, I'm proud to have accomplished this all by myself...go ahead and say it, big baby, I know.

Thanks for all your well wishes and comments for my Mom, it means more to me than you know. I am ready to soak up the Florida sun, reconnect with old friends, fight frizzy hair days and enjoy great sea food.
