ATL Locals and Chuck Taylor's? Check

This past weekend, mother nature gave us a break from the cold and gave us a weekend full of sunshine and heavinly temps in the 70's! We enjoyed every minute outdoors exploring the city. Let's just say, my hubby and I unintentionally wore similar outfits for our day of exploring…gingham shirts, denim and our Chucks. Yep, we looked like twinsies for the day, but neither of us seemed to mind being comfy and hip in our shoes.

We spent one day exploring the Square in downtown Decatur, Ga. With it's decadent restaurants and pubs, artsy stores and rich architecture, this city filled with culture and charm was a delight to visit. We spent the rest of our sunny weekend exploring the Old Roswell Mill - Vickery Creek Trail

Our breathtaking view of the Vickery Creek dam from the top of the trail…simply divine ending to our sunny weekend. Back to winter, but hopefully not for too much longer.

Cobalt Blue Romance

This gorgeous coat has been in my family for over 30 years.  It belongs to my mom, which she purchased and wore in Chicago as the secretary for the editor of the Chicago Tribune.  When my My Mom and Dad relocated to Florida, the coat was retired in my closet. Yes, my closet. I loved it so much, almost as much as my mom did. The fact that it was my moms and the history behind it made it too nostalgic to give away.  So, it sat in my Florida closet for about 20 years until now.  I brought it with me when we relocated to Atlanta and I get the pleasure of introducing it back into the world! Thanks Mom, you can wear it anytime when you're in Atlanta. I love you!

What I'm wearing: Coat: vintage // Sweater: J.Crew, old // Jeans: Loft, summer // Shoes: the pumps are Enzo, Nordstrom Rack and ballerina flats are Sam Edelman  // Bag: vintage

Visions of sugar plums danced in her head...

As newbies to the Atlanta area, my hubby Bill and I are usually out on the weekends discovering new places, new roads, new everything and it's been a fun way to get acclimated in our new city.  As a blogger and amateur photographer, my mind is always in search of the perfect backdrop for my photos.  I usually take my own photos for my blog with the help of a tripod and a camera remote, so anytime I can get Bill to snap photos of me while we are out, I get super excited!

When we drove past this long stretch of landscape and curvy sidewalk, I had visions of beautiful photos with gorgeous outfits strutting down the the streets of Atlanta…I was dressed for the mall, not glamorous at all, but I asked Bill to pull over and take photos of my plum vintage swing coat (looks more wine in these pics). Really? Here? Why? he asked. It was cold and windy and we were hungry, but being the sweet man that he is, he went along with it.  As you can see, he cracks me up,  but we managed to get some "not so serious" pics of my vintage coat and a peek-a-boo of my new scarf I picked up at the mall.  I think Bill did a pretty good job under these conditions, what do you think?
