There is always one thing that I get asked about more than anything else... my tattoo. My tattoo is incredibly special to me and it really made the pain worth it to make this a permanent accessory.
You see, Bueno was how my dad would answer the phone when I would call him. He would greet me so enthusiastically with a Buenoooo! followed by his joyful laughter. I could almost hear him smiling as he beamed with happiness through the phone. Bueno is defined as okay; fine or it is used in certain latin cultures as a way to say hello when answering the phone. But not in my family, only my Dad and I found it funny and for many years we would always let out a cheerful Buenooooo! followed by a giggle every time we spoke.
When my Dad passed away, I knew I would never hear Bueno again. It had become such a part of my life to hear my Dad so happy, even when he got sick, his greeting was always full of cheer. It was my hubby's idea to to place a tattoo on my wrist so that I could see it everyday. Although it's not the same as hearing my dad's voice, I absolutely love my tattoo and how it brings back memories of my Dads laughter and that joy in his voice.
Thank you so much for reading! Read my previous post about my hubby's tattoos here.
Today, I am linking up with these lovelies.
I love tiny wrist tattoos with words, especially if they have a meaning behind them. Didn't hurt on that place? I ask very sorry about your father. Those colorful tassel bracelets are gorgeousss - I wantttt! Where are they from?
