Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget. ~ Unknown
I woke up this morning feeling really thanful for all of my girlfriends, the new and the old. As women, we bond with others who share our vision, our goals, and our humor. Girlfriends offer advice ranging from frizzy hair to dealing with family, love, career, weight and boosting our self-esteem. Fashion, makeup, home decorating and shopping is just more fun to share with girlfriends!
Since our move to Atlanta last year, I've matured enough to understand the value of friendships with women. I have learned that having real friends takes effort. A true friend doesn't judge you, they accept you the way you are, build you up and you thrive with their friendship. You may not talk or see each other every day, but you always pick up where you left off, even if it has been weeks since you last spoke.

I truly believe that you are blessed if you have just one really good girlfriend in your life. I have been blessed with a handful of amazing lifelong girlfriends, including my beautiful mother in-law. It's been 30+ years since I met my mom in-law and we still call each other randomly just to catch up on our favorite reality shows and laugh like giddy school girls. I may not hear from my girlfriends every day, but when we email, text or call each other it's as though I never left Florida.
I want my friendships to be solid and meaningful, so I am willing to put in the effort. Because you know those important long night chats about the Bravo Housewives, the amazing sales at Nordstrom and our tragic haircut stories are all seriously good for our health.
Thanks so much for reading!

ReplyDeleteYou're so right. Having one or two true girlfriends means a world more than a whole group of "faux" friends. You both look stunning, btw!

ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful time with a good friend. They are hard to come by, and often times it just means having someone be there for you. Love your outfits, and both of you are wearing cool tights! Love your vest, so cozy and a beautifl dark tone.
