I love jumpsuits and rompers.  It seems to be a lasting trend that I just can't give up. However, running around in a jumpsuit is not really ideal.  Let's hope you don't have to make a stop at the ladies room, because trying to put yourself back together in a public restroom is not the most pleasant. So, what is a girl to do? You buy matching pieces and fake the trend! It's the perfect solution if you like to drink a lot of coffee, yet look trendy doing it.

Two things I'm crazy for this summer: 

1. White Tops - soft flowy, crisp cotton white tops are my favorite to wear on a hot summer day.

And 2. Denim Shorts - soft cotton, distressed, over sized, comfy shorts. I could wear them dressed up or casual with my sandals. Okay 3 things - I always go crazy for cute summer dresses.

In the Navy

Hi friends! I've been MIA for a few weeks lately, so I thought I would check in and let you know what has been going on! I started a new job, well, it's really my old job, but it's fresh and new after a 2 year sabbatical. I'm back into the marketing/social media world and I absolutely LOVE it, but I have failed you and neglected my little blog while I got myself settled in.

 It's a short post today since I am getting ready to travel for Paris with B for our Anniversary! I'm so excited that I've been packed for over a week. I'm working on our itinerary, so I would love to hear your tips and any suggestions if you've been to Paris!

I really like flowy pieces and the whole boho vibe. While shopping at my favorite store, Loft,  a thin, tall, young sales girl was wearing this top and I fell in love with it immediately on her so, I bought it.  Because I'm thin, tall and young...NOT.  Even though I kept it because I love the style and the color, I feel it might be better suited for someone with a smaller frame than mine, definitely a smaller bust line. It has a lot of fabric in the middle, so my chest makes it feel more like a maternity top on me, than boho. Disclosure: I am not pregnant. 

It can be a hit or miss sometimes if I don't try on a trendy piece before I buy it. But, it also gives me a great excuse to go back to the store if I had to exchange it ;-)

It's an illusion

B and I will be going to Paris in a few weeks to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I've only been dreaming of Paris since I was a young girl...strolling through the streets holding hands with my love,  wearing pretty dresses and stopping at a cafe for Parisian pastries.

Easy Breezy

 While running errands in this outfit, I was asked by a salesman if the thing to do now is to wear Converse with a dress... ummmm, really? I was thinking this look is so yesterday. I politely replied that Chuck Taylor's are cool with pretty much anything in my book.  But, I found it a little odd that a salesman would make a comment about my outfit, and not in a good way like "you look nice" or "pretty dress".  The fact that he actually questioned my outfit choice made me wonder if I looked silly.  Well...that thought lasted about 2 minutes before I realized this is who I am, it's my personal style and if this person doesn't get it, it's okay with me. Everyone style is different and this makes our world a more interesting place.

I'm sure his comment was mean as an ice breaker, although it was a little awkward. How do you feel about this look?

Spring Dresses

Sneakers can be a girls best friend, especially when the weather becomes unpredictable. As a former Florida girl, I tend to overdress in cold weather, so I keep extra shoes, scarves and hats in my car for a quick change. Between my rain boots, booties, riding boots and sneakers, I'm really starting to miss wearing my pretty, girly sandals though.

The good news is that I do not have to wait for spring to wear sandals, because B and I will be heading to Florida this weekend for some much needed family time!!! Gahhh!!!! I'm really looking forward to a few sunny days, hopefully with a Piña Colada in my hand and my toes in the sand. I will be packing a few spring outfits for our sunny weekend along with my winter coat for our return back home.

Oversized

Oversized sweater, old, Marshalls // Dress, Loft, sold out // Booties, Joe Fresh on sale now!

I get that "oversized" is not the same thing as a SUPERSIZE happy meal,  but it can just as gratifying. What is there not to like about this figure-flaw hiding style?

Wearing anything oversized can be a tricky thing though.  You have to find just the right piece that looks fashionably chic rather than looking as if you are drowning in it.  I always go up a size on sweaters that I plan on layering over my clothes, as long as it does not look sloppy.  I like that happy, go lucky feeling I get when I wear oversized clothes and maybe, just maybe, I will supersize that meal after all.

Seasonally Confused

The  NYFW 2015 spring trends featured on the runways were dreamy, but in my mind all I can think about is sweater weather, boots and dinners by the fire. Why is it that we always want the opposite of what we have? 

This little floral dress describes how I am feeling about fashion right now, seasonally confused.  It's new at the Loft for the fall, but the light chiffon material allows me to wear it today as we transition into fall.  For now, I'll stick to turning down my AC while sipping on hot chocolate in my sweats and dressing for the heat when I have to leave my home. This gives me the best of both worlds.

That Trend Is So Yesterday

As I was running out the door, I grabbed a pair of aviators that were thrown on the table by my keys. It didn't hit me until later as I was looking at these photos, that everything I was wearing was reminiscent of the 70's,  just updated to modern. The wedges, romper, denim jacket and the aviators were all really hot trends back then. I was just too young to realize how hip I was. Isn't it funny how styles evolve?  We love it,  then hate it and when it comes back around as a hot new trend, we love it again.  My love for rompers continues.
