I just got back from visiting my daughter who lives in Manhattan. I have been to NYC many times before and I always come back home inspired, exhausted, but so inspired. It's truly a magical city filled with people from all walks of life, where each unique neighborhood is filled with their own culture and the architecture is simply breathtaking. I was able to snap a few pics of our mother/daughter days exploring the city, shopping and enjoying NYC cuisine.
NYC shopping is incredible. One of our favorite stops was at Alex and Ani in SOHO. My latest jewelry addiction.
Obsessed with this Alex an Ani vintage inspired heart bangle that I had to take home.
Little Italy is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening. You will find the best Italian restaurants and bakeries here. It's also great for people watching over a glass of wine. We saw a couple of the Real Housewives from New York and if you're a fan like I am, that's a big deal.
Lombardi's Pizzeria has to be the best pizza in the city...sorry for the blurry image, it was taken with my phone.
Street performers in Little Italy make you feel as though you are strolling through the streets of Italy.
Walking through the streets of NYC, you will come across filming for movies or TV shows. We walked past the Girls set as they were filming on Elizabeth and Spring street. I think we are going to be famous blurry background people.
Mimosas in the mornings are the best with this girl!
We made a quick stop into the NARS makeup store in SOHO. The makeup artist showed us how to contour our cheeks with the NARS Kabuka ITA Brush. This brush is so hard to find, we were really lucky to buy one of the four he had left.
You can't visit New York and not stop by the World Trade Center Memorial. 13 years later and I still have to fight back the tears as I go past the names of those who perished on that fateful day.
Grateful to all who serve our country.
Outfit details: Cynthia Rowley dress for Tj Maxx // Clavin Klein bag, old, but love this one // Sam Edelman Sandals
Have you been to NYC? What were your favorite spots to visit?
Thanks so much for stopping by!

I just left this beautiful city too after visiting this weekend, and I must agree. There's no place like it. There's always something to do and somewhere to go you could never get bored. The shapes of the buildings create the most amazing landscape. I've been to the memorial, and it is emotional for sure....Thanks for reminding me about Little Italy. I visited that neighborhood about 8 years ago, and I think you've convinced me to go back! It's been too long! btw if you can disclose, who did you see? Was it Ramona?

Hi Ele! We saw Carol walking around SOHO with her boyfriend and then we saw Aviva with her kids with Reed at a bakery in Little Italy. I was too scared of Aviva to ask her for a pic :/ Here is the best pic I got from Carol as she walked past us to buy ice cream, haha! What part of NY did you visit?
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are so pretty! And that Alex and Ani store looks amazing!!

I always enjoy your photos and stories behind them. Glad to see more of these pics - I've only been to NYC a couple times, you've painted the picture of the City quite nicely. And that pizza! OMG. Carylee | morepiecesofme.com
