The crop top is definitely having a fashion moment. This trend may be intimidating at first glance, but it's all in what you wear it with. My favorite look is a crop top paired with a high waisted skirt or high waisted pants.
Tj Maxx Top, similar // Francesca's Skirt, similar // BCBG Booties, old // Nordstrom Bag, love this one // Jewelry: Fossil Watch, David Yurman Cuff, Alex & Ani Bracelet, Tiffany & Co. Pendant
Rebecca (above) can rock any trend with her oh-so brave and daring personality. And this is why I love to play stylist with my future daughter in-law.
My personal style leans more modest and to be honest, I would not want to pull on my top all day for the fear of someone catching a glimpse at my washboard abs. I'm also not in my twenties anymore, so, I found other ways to keep it modest, yet current:
~ Layer a crop over a longer shirt for a modest approach.
~ Choose a less dramatic crop and pair it with high waisted pants. This keeps the silhouette but keeps your skin shown to a minimum.
~ Wear two pieces with the same pattern with the break at the crop. This creates the right amount of interest, yet it is still pretty modest.
For more inspiration on wearing a crop, check out how the Damsel in Dior does it.
What are your thoughts on the crop top trend? Hot or Not?

Stopping by from Mix it Mondays Link up. This outfit is so pretty! I love the color of the top. I haven't tried the crop top on its own, but your suggestions on how to wear it are great!

ReplyDeleteHi Rhea! You can totally pull off any trend, you have a great sense of style! Thanks for stopping by and your sweet comment! xo
ReplyDeleteYou should try it what we did here to see if you like the look...If you look closely at Rebecca's top, we actually took a longer top and tucked it with a pin in the back to give her the short crop top look! That way if you are not comfy with the trend, you didn't lose anything! Thanks so much for stopping by! xo
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! xo
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks, Gina!! I keep telling my DIL should be a model, she is really beautiful! You have great style and an amazing figure, so you can totally off this trend. Go for it girl! xo
