Ready for the Fashion Blogger Runway

I'm back to my beautiful blogging world and oh, how I've missed you!  I have been a busy girl like most of you beauties are...I took on new dream job that has kept me away from blogging about my love; Fashion.

I am working as a Social Media Consultant with a large, "fashionable" woman owned marketing company. I have been blogging, tweeting, pinning and Facebooking, A LOT, but not so much about fashion. Needless to say, this has not kept me from adding some sinfully delicious wardrobe pieces to my closet.

So back to the bloggers runway I go, starting with the IFB {Independent Fashion Bloggers) Conference in New York next week!! I am really looking forward to their lineup of speakers and seeing some of my favorite bloggers!

Now, what to pack for this fashionable stay in New York City????

Print Mixing Love

I am a big fan of mixing prints. Keiko Lynn {photo above} is a master print mixer.  It's like a work of art. I just don't know how to put it all together like these ladies do.  To me, you have to feel it. For example, if you look in the mirror and if it doesn't feel right, don't wear it.  But if at a glance, you look in the mirror and the color combo works, then you go for it.  When in doubt...don't. Stick to what feels good to you.
This is the Blogger from Atlantic-Pacific.com who knows how to mix prints really well.  She is so glam and always gets it right!
You have to be bold to pull this look off, but it works.
Can't go wrong with black and white.
Love the idea of mixing floral with stripes. Note to self: do try to pick up one color thread in common from the blouse and the skirt, for example the navy from the blouse and in the skirt.
This outfit is just too cute for words.  I need to go practice mixing my prints...have you tried print mixing?

Monica

Shoe Madness at The Rack...

So, I usually pay a weekly visit to Nordstrom Rack to see what discounted designer goodies come in...
you just never know what you might find from your favorite brands.  I ran into a mountain of Tory Burch shoes...GASP...
a Pair of Sam Edelman Flats for $79 {originally $149}...
and these Michael Kors leopard print pumps that stole my heart...sigh.

Do you have a Nordstrom Rack near you? What did you score? Do tell...
xxoo,
Monica

The Boyfriend

 The trusted boyfriend jeans.
I have nothing to wear.
My shoe inspiration...
Wearing my silver jewelry today.
Here with Champ, my real boyfriend.

Are you like me, where some days you open your closet and feel like "ughhh you have nothing to wear"? Since I have started blogging and reading a lot of fashion blogs, I am starting to let this feeling go. I have learned how to piece outfits together, layer correctly and make the most with what I have. As long as you have the basic staples in your closet, you have it made. Today I am wearing boyfriend jeans with a basic white Tee and a basic black blazer, all classic wardrobe staples.

Blogging has become a personal journey for me which has helped me step out of my comfort zone and try new things, yet stay true to who I am.  I have challenged myself to wear something old from my closet paired with something new...hence the name and idea behind my blog, Glamvolution. Look at what you already have differently and keep an open mind. I am surprised by how many outfits I can put together with what I have in my closet! I have a lot to wear! My hubby would be happy to hear this will keep me from shopping as much. I don't really need anything...ok, who am I kidding, I still love to shop. Sometimes a girl just wants things, not just needs. But, I am having fun thrifting and getting creative with my old clothes! Thanks for reading and coming along with me through this fun journey.

Monica

Spotted in Pleats

Feeling fun and flirty in this little spotted, pleated, with a seriously drop waist dress.  The vibrant colors mixed with dark navy make the style and cut of the dress (uhummm) age appropriate. It has been in the high 80's here in Florida, so the jacket didn't stay on very long. The day was filled with sunshine with an occasional spring breeze, just enough to poof my dress. Hope you are having a wonderful week! Thanks for reading!

Monica

Wild Flowers and Scallops

Omg...I found this silk blouse at a consignment shop for $12. Love. I was so excited to create an outfit to share with you. The possibilities for outfits with this little number are endless. These photo's are taken in my backyard and if you look closely in the background, you might be able to sneak a peek at Champ (my dog). Sorry for the lack of rings, my fingers are a bit puffy from baking and eating this past holiday weekend.
Thanks for reading!
