Something New for 2014

Bill and I freezing on top of  Stone Mountain over the holidays. What I wore: Beanie // Scarf, Zara // Coat // Boots, old  // Bag
I am not really big on writing down new year resolutions and then being hard on myself if I don't fulfill them. For me, it's more about trying something new every new year.  Instead of just talking about taking a photography class,  I will follow through and just do it this year.  I love to explore new places in our new city with my hubby,  try new hair styles and find new hobbies.  Here are a few more things I aspire to try this new year:

Wear: Wear my vintage jewelry more often, not just to special events. The rings above are on loan from my mother-in-law. I am slightly obsessed with vintage rhinestones and bold jewelry.

Bake: Okay, who am I kidding, I am not a true baker. But, I do love to eat baked pastries!!! Maybe, I will attempt a new recipe this year...

Decor / Photography: This sweet porcelain figurine was a wedding gift given to my in-laws 55 years ago. My in-laws passed it down to my hubby and I this Christmas with so much love. They adorn our built-in shelves in our pretty new living room, until it comes the time to hand them down to our kids one day.  Photography is a big passion of mine,  so I will share photos of my new home and more of the little things I love.
Vintage suitcases at an antique mall that I didn't buy, but I went crazy over. My hubby loved that they didn't come home with us. Photo taken with my iPhone.
Start a new collection: I used to collect vintage perfume bottles. Lately, it's shoes. I need to go back and find joy in collectibles again.

Here's to a new year filled with new adventures and pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone! What are you going to try that's new for you this year?

I would make new year resolutions and then forget what the resolution was. This year I kept it simple...to add more color to my wardrobe. I love the vintage cases too!
